The prompt for this week’s Spoonflower challenge is “Other Holidays” I have never designed anything for S Patrick’s day which is hugely popular here in the USA so I thought I’d have a bash at that. The strange thing is most Americans don’t realize that St Patrick is just one of the Patron Saints , We also have St David for Wales, St George for England and St Andrew for Scotland!
and I also rustled up a little collection to party on down with my hero design!
I have designed some odd things in the past and I definitely tapped into my weird side to create a surreal wallpaper for this week’s Spoonflower. I imagined birds breaking through from the outside world and pecking and removing design pieces from a wallpaper. Odd yes, I know!
We are back to designing repeat patterns for the Spoonflower challenge this week and it is another East Fork pottery challenge. I have to say I am not in love with the palette for this week and will most likely jazz up the designs I have created with a color palette more pleasing to my eye!
I took a whimsical approach and created a design with mushrooms and mice!
I actually created quite a few design options for this challenge, they are all now for sale in my shop in a new collection which also includes some basic coordinates.

I was all over the place with ideas for the cartography Spoonflower challenge this week but in the end was drawn to the relationship of a compass the the adventures it can lead to! I absolutely LOVE maps and used to be a wizard using a compass to navigate through tricky terrain while hiking off trail.

The prompt for this week’s Spoonflower challenge is Lake life. As much as I love the serenity of lakes, I am always plagued by mosquitos, I must have an extra special scent or something else that really attracts them and I am so allergic to their bites. Yikes! So it was from that experience I drew my inspiration!
Whimsigothic is the prompt for this week’s Spoonflower challenge and I took inspiration from the lunar moth. Incorporating some skeleton decor in the wings and hey presto, Goth Moth!
Gosh, sometimes the Spoonflower challenge prompts leave me completely void of ideas and when I first read the creative brief for the Vintage Sportwear challenge my mind was totally blank.
I fired up Adobe illustrator and something magical happened, from a simple idea designs just tumbled out. I love it when that happens!
The trouble is I am at odds now on what to enter.

Phew, it is the last of the Spoonflower bedding challenges this week. The prompt is Monochromatic Duvet covers.
I went totally Bauhaus retro with my design.
Of course a whole collection “Bauhaus Fall” rolled out from this one design as seems to happen a lot with me these days!
The Spoonflower challenges are moving onto Duvets this week and the prompt is Tween Spirit.
Tweens are a difficult age but then so are full blown teens! My inspiration for the design I created this week was the postcard montages I used to make on my bedroom wall. I’d collect all sorts of postcards and craft a beautiful artwork. I actually still have some of those postcards!
I picked a color scheme of “oh so trendy” pink and green and created a pig patchwork of designs
I also rustled up a whole collection based around these postcards
Here comes another Pantone palette Spoonflower challenge, and I have to say the pressure is on. I have won ALL of them so far this year first with my Viva Magenta Vineyard and then my Ocean Action. I am thinking my Pantone run is over and I will probably BOMB in this challenge.
As usual the color palette was a bit of a challenge with none of the colors or combinations really jiving with me. I took inspiration from the color palette name “Mega Matter” and thought about the structure of living things and got led down a brainstorming path of x-raying flowers and the amazing translucent effects it produces. But enough blabbing onto the design itself.
Of course I went a little bat crazy with my ideas and all of these patterns are now for sale in My Mega Matter collection
