I thought I’d have a bash at taking part in the the Ellolovey Spoonflower doodle challenge this year. After reading the prompt list it seemed I had actually designed to about 90% of the prompts already which is interesting as Spoonflower picked them to reflect design trends. I am ahead of the curve hahah!
But it did give me the opportunity to create a few new designs
Here are my takes on the prompts and I have made a little Spoonflower collection
It’s funny I get a lot of comments on my designs saying they are cute and it never my intension to design anything that could afford that description hahah!
So to be asked to pull that attribute out of that hat for this week’s Spoonflower challenge has been a stretch… but here we go. Peekaboo Bears!
Waking up to -7deg F and a decent covering of snow on the ground here in Chicago, I channeled thoughts of spring for my entry into this week’s Spoonflower challenge, Pocket, what a fun prompt!
Come September, Spoonflower will be offering their Petal Signature Cotton fabric in 50 dyed solid colors, a departure from their print on demand approach but I am guessing it makes business sense.
Now you could spend a half hour creating a swatch from the graphic they have provided. Or you could just download the handy dandy .ase swatch file of the entire range which I have created and thought I’d share with the world. Download and import right into your graphics program. In the time you have saved go and have a cup of tea!
Hand drawn florals – now there is a prompt that makes me smile. I took a wash and ink approach which results in a very organic look and definitely has that hand drawn vibe.
It looks drop dead gorgeous as a table cloth … high tea anyone?
Or as any sort of bedding – I may never get out of my bed if that is what covered me!
