She plays to win, The Queen of Hearts is the antithesis of game night and my repeat fabric for this weeks Spoonflower challenge features quirky playing cards.
What fun these were to draw!

Big hugs if you vote for my design!

I went quite literal for this weeks Spoonflower Design Challenge – Snail Mail.
I reworked my snail design so my little garden snails were carrying little letters.
It makes a fun mask for a mail carrier!
Who doesn’t love curling up with a good book and if you are anything like me putting that book down can be tricky and often lead to some midnight reading sessions. The inspiration for my entry for the Cozy reading challenge was born.
Quirky cats and book worms!
As usual your vote means the world to me!
I get so much pleasure from watching the birds visit the bird feeder in my garden. Yes it may cause a mess and attracts pesky squirrels and chipmunks but it is worth it!
I came up with two designs for Backyard Winter Birds Tea Towel Spoonflower challenge this week and ummed and arred about which one to enter.
I decided to go with this one.
This was the other design I came up with.
Looking at them both I don’t know if I have made the right choice on which one to enter… as I write this there is still time to do a switcharoo.
Update
Came in 15th out of 634 entries and received 210 votes!
This weeks Spoonflower challenge was to come up with a tea towel which imparted some kitchen wisdom.
Boiling the perfect egg depends on how you like your eggs and I came up with this design : Eggtastic . I plan to use old clucky the chicken in a repeat pattern design
Now the funny thing is, is that I don’t like eggs, never have and never will. It’s such a shame as they are a perfect food. I can eat them in a quiche but scrambled, boiled, fried or poached them they are a no go!
But don’t let that stop you voting for my Eggtastic Tea towel!
Update
Winner, winner chicken dinner, I placed 4th!
This is my first time designing a tea towel and what fun it was. The Spoonflower design challenge this week is to come up with a 2021 calendar which will be printed as a tea towel.
I have been mucking about with Prairie themed designs and little prairie dogs dilly dallying around in a beautiful floral landscape seemed a perfect way to banish an awkward 2020 and welcome in a fresh new year.
Voting stats Thursday – go on you know you want to vote!
This week’s Spoonflower design challenge mark the 500th challenge for them and this week there is no design prompt but they want designer to submit a design which showcases their artistic voice and their only guideline is “Be True to Yourself”
The prizes are bigger and juicier than usual so it is game on! Having had 6 top ten placements in the contests since April I am really out to get one of those coveted top three places!
So many of the patterns I create are inspired by nature and my habitat restoration volunteer work on a local Prairie has exposed me to the wonders of grasses and this time of year, drop dead gorgeous seed heads. There are always birds fluttering around pecking at the seeds.
Prairie Birds and Seed heads was born
The design really encompasses my artistic voice. It combines both natural and whimsical elements and tells a simple story.
I am a real sucker for a blue and white color palette so it was no surprise that for a design that completely embodies my artistic voice ended up as blue and white!
I can’t tell you how thrilled I would be if you give me a vote. There are likely to be more than a 1000 entries in this competition and finding a particular design on a page is quite a challenge. The designs are loaded in a random order but there is a little trick you can use to speed things up.
Once you visit the link below use Page Down on you keyboard or scroll away right to the very bottom of the page. Then use a Find on Page function which is ctrl F on a PC or Command+F on a Mac. If you are on a tablet of phone you can use a “Find on Page” function. Search for Creativeinchi and the design will pop right up!
Getting my head around baubles and fairy lights is quite something when it is still 90 deg F outside and I am wearing a flimsy summer dress but that’s part of the challenge right? This week’s Spoonflower challenge is Maximalist Holiday
This is what I have come up with: Wonderful Colorful Christmas
I worked in a bold color palette and combined ornately decorated Christmas ornaments with gifts and Christmas greenery.
The design works fabulously as a tablecloth or placemat
and a drop dead gorgeous wrapping paper
Voting starts tomorrow …and go on … you know you want to vote!
