Wedding Linens

With a close family member navigating the “rip you off” experience of planning a wedding at the moment, I find the whole do it yourself and micro wedding very appealing.

I dabbled around with quite a few designs for this week’s Spoonflower challenge, Wedding Linens, but have eventually settle on a simple boho floral heart design in blues and whites. I have been assured that blue and white is on trend!

Here are the other designs I created with the Wedding Linens theme in mind. They are all for sale in a new collection “Celebrating Love” There are vairous colorways available!

What a Wonderful World

This week’s Spoonflower challenge is to create a design which celebrates what you love most about the natural world. I foresee a challenge awash with florals! The winner will be selected by Peppermint magazine and they are looking for a design which is suitable for apparel.

With that in mind I have steered well clear of florals, gone underwater and created a fishy celebration!

Me being me, I did a few colorways too!

You need to add a widget, row, or prebuilt layout before you’ll see anything here. 🙂

Birthday Linens

I designed a whole collection of birthday linens a few years back, so got stuck in a bit of a design funk when exactly the same design prompt I had given myself has come up as a Spoonflower design prompt this week. But then I had an aha moment.

Here are my Happy Birthday Birds!

Sweet white birds wearing birthday hats and carrying a birthday banner, swooping through blossom tress decorated with gifts, cupcakes and candles.

Doodle Bugs

The last few weeks of the Spoonflower challenges have been a little disheartening. Cheating has been rife and one of the challenges was even won by an A.I design. After a bit of a fiasco it was disqualified but the fact that these designs are getting through at all is sad to say the least, it is not always easy to spot them. The challenges are so bloated with designs voting is an absolute pain in the arse.

I am tempted to give up on them altogether but I am still placing within the top 50 the majority of the time so I am going to continue for now on my quest to enter every single challenge.

This week the prompt is Doodle Bugs and I created quite a few option and have been left in a position of not really knowing which one to enter.

In the end I have gone for this one

Also in my dismay with the whole A.I thing I created another design.

SNAKE SKIN SHEDDING

Abstract Animal Skin

I went a little bit snake mad this week for the Spoonflower challenge!

I think the gray days we have been having here in Chicago have made me crave color even more than usual and I let rip with my color palette… dopamine decor anyone?

The pattern will be viewed on a curtain panel for judging, they would certainly jazz up a boring room!

I also broke out some of patterns within my pattern to be stand up designs on their own and hence an easy collection was born.

East Fork Piglet and Butter

This week’s Spoonflower challenge is a partnership with pottery studio East Fork to celebrate the launch of two new glazes, Piglet, which is a soft pink nd butter, and equally soft yellow.

I came up with a folk art bird.

To be honest this color palette really didn’t talk to me but it didn’t stop me having a dam good play around with it and a whole collection of designs just evolved!
