The calendar Tea Towel challenge can be counted on every year and this week is it’s time! I update all my calendars every year. Here is the entire 2026 collection
When I first started designing for Spoonflower I really didn’t enjoy the tea towel challenges but now they are one of my favorite! I update my calendar tea towels each year so I have quite a collection now!
I always end up designing a couple of concepts and then find it impossible to choose which one to enter. This year was no exception and I ended up posting my two finalists to a group on Facebook to gauge the reactions.
This is the design I decided to go with
Beach Hut Beach Days 2025 Calendar
Here were the other contenders
Yes Chef is the prompt for this week’s Spoonflower challenge and there is nothing like designing to food related prompts to make me hungry.
I went for a Chef Special Full English Breakfast
This week the Spoonflower challenge is another Pantone challenge, the last of 4 pantone challenge for this year. We started with Viva Magenta– I came 1st, then Ultra Steady , I came first again. The third challenge was Mega Matter – I came 2nd in that one. The pressure is one again to at least get in the top 10!
All of the palettes we have been given to work with have been a tad bit tricky and this week the intangible palette has it’s challenges. The whole brief of the challenge was a little odd but I took my inspiration from the word intangible and thought about the intangible nature of the wind. Windy meadow was born!
I also created a monotone repeat of the design… using the Pantone intangible palette. See the Pantone Intangible collection
It is another Spoonflower wall hanging challenge this week. Wall hangings have never been a big seller for me despite my past entries placing well. The prompt this week is Witty Wordplay.
Here is what I came up with!
Be Pre Peared
It is naff, it is cheesy but I really don’t want to invest any more time on this challenge hahah!
But I also came up with this… but it is a little too risky for a challenge entry. However it is for sale in my shop and would make a great gag gift for Christmas!
Every year Spoonflower has a recipe tea towel challenge which are always fun to create. Last year I created a tea towel for one of my favorite soups, Carrot and coriander and the previous year it was sugar mice. Before that is was Perfectly Boiled Eggs This year they are calling for festive beverages and this is what I came up with.
I also built out a whole collection around my naughty little Christmas elf!
Naughty Christmas Elf Collection
It is that time of year for the Spoonflower calendar challenge. Calendar tea towels have sold quite well for me over the years and I always update past calendars for the new year. Check out my 2024 calendars
I always like to take a look at the designs I have created in the last 12 months and see if any of them speak “calendar ” to me. There were three designs this year.
Waking up with the Birds
Buttercup Meadow
Honeycomb
After much deliberation I went for waking up with the birds, but all the designs are now for sale in my shop!
Delicious Ditsy… now there is a fun design prompt for a challenge! I messed around with a recent Christmas charcuterie design I had created and turned it into something more ditsy, for this week’s challenge
It has been a month of tea towel / wall hanging design challenges over at Spoonflower and this week marks the last one. The prompt is dad jokes … I can hear you all groaning now. Not my favorite prompt by any means. But usual I rose to the challenge and came up with this.
Now coming from Britain, every atom of my being wanted to use the word Maths instead of Math, but it is a case of knowing your target customer. So I sucked it up and went with the American version!
Gosh that is a yucky prompt for a Spoonflower challenge. We are in the depths of tea towel/ wall hanging challenges and I have to admit they are not my favorite. But I am keeping my personal promise of designing for every single challenge!
This is what I came up with ” My Magic Pencil” One pencil three colors.
